Fulfil a promise or a duty????

Hola guys,

In 19 days, I may be going to a full day rehearsal for my school's musical. But then again, I may not. Why? Because dear readers, I shall explain...

Last year, I found out I was moving schools. When I told my friends, they were pretty upset. They told me "If you get any days off from your school, you should come and visit us before and after school starts". I agreed to this. But you see, until now, I've never had a day off from my school where they went to school and I didn't have to, and upon finding out about this rehearsal coming up, I have decided: do I or do I not go to my friends at my old school and fulfil a promise or do I or do I not go to a rehearsal where I can spend HOURS talking to 2 hot guys and eat pizza? And work on the production of course!!! ;)

You, dear reader, will be the judge (please help, I can't decide and time is rapidly running out!!!!!)

The Flirt Struggle Complication

Xin chao guys,

Firstly I would like to apologise for this week's late post. Normally I post on Wednesdays (Aussie time), but I had a debate that night, and it's hard writing a blog post in between writing rebuts and chatting to the hot guy on your team.

So todays post is going to be about the struggles of talking to guys you like and getting them to take the hint.

For me, every time I talk to a guy I like, there is no butterfly feeling, but something in my brain will snap and the randomest stuff will just be spoken. So instead of those carefully rehearsed lines, I end up talking about tomato sauce sandwiches (which incidentally are really delicious). And then like that, you either can score some brownie points with them, or you become The Friend Girl. And 8 times out of 10, that's happened to me.

Then it comes to your surroundings. If you are surrounded by mates, it's hard to sneak in a subtle 'I like guys with (insert his eye colour) eyes. They are uber hot'. And if you try and get him in class, you have a snowball's chance in a deep fryer of getting a good flirt out.

And it's uber terrible when you eventually get around to saying something exactly how you planned it, and your object of affection says "I like someone else" or "I'm gay". Then you have essentially put in all this work for nothing, so what do you do then? Right now, I'm booking a one way ticket to Mongolia.

But even when you do manage to be a good flirter, save his family from a coincidentally burning building and get a skywriter to write his name and yours in the sky above your school, does he take the hint? That is what I plan to find out and when I do, you guys'll be the first to know. Until then, don't set his house on fire and just happen to be in the area.

Happy 138th Birthday Howard Carter!!!

Hola Internet,

Normally I wouldn't do a birthday post for anyone, but seeing as today it's the birthday of a renowned archaeologist, I'm making an exception. So let's all wish Howard Carter a happy 138th birthday!!

Ok, so he died years ago, but one reason why I'm posting this is because I am a major Egypt freak; if someone even mentions mummies I go psycho. No kidding. So the fact that Howard Carter discovered one of history's major archaeological finds is enough to make me want to do a birthday post for him.

In case you don't know who he is, he was the guy who found the tomb of Tutankhamen, the one filled with an uber large amount of treasure and mystery and 'curses'. And then later on died from the curse, oh wait, that was Lord Carnavon, the guy who sponsored the dig.

Before I finish typing, I would just like to mention the amazingness of The Big Bang Theory. I started watching it a few months ago, and have since been hooked. Why? Because it's funny, gripping, hilarious, sometimes educational and have I mentioned funny?

So if you haven't heard of the whole Tutankhamen curse, it's something I recommend you look into, it's uber fascinating and if you have any requests for posts, leave them in the comments section below

Black Ops and The 2012 Apocalypse (plus we review an album!!)

Guten Abend,

Recently I had a virtual action packed weekend. Plants Vs Zombies, COD Black Ops, Prototype; it was all played. Many swearwords were mentioned, many virtual men/plants died, but it made to be a good weekend. And when I wasn’t destroying things, I was listening to my favourite podcast, Stuff You Missed in History Class. If you haven’t listened to it, it’s one I recommend. Anyway, the topic they were talking about in this podcast was the 2012 ‘apocalypse’. So tonight we’ll delve into that and also I’ll be reviewing an album I recently downloaded: Nightflight by Kate Miller-Heidke.

So, 2012. It’s a topic that many discussed when the movie of the same name came (hahahaha that rhymes!!) out, and is the thing of many conversation debates; do you or don’t you think it will happen? Personally, I don’t. If Y2K didn’t happen, and 6.6.6 and 11.11.11, then what are the odds of the world coming to an end this year on December 21st?? I (and many scientists) believe that the world will end when the sun turns into a red giant and envelops us all. But that’s not going to be for millions or billions of years, so we’ve got nothing to worry about.

Now I know it was released less than a month ago here in Australia, but I downloaded it on Sunday, so here is my review of Nightflight: Mostly a haunting but beautiful album, but gems like I’ll Change Your Mind and Ride This Feeling show us that Kate still has her whimsical and bubbly side. Other notable songs like Fire and Iron and Your Friends Will Tell You Who You Are, which to me are some of my favourites, seem to tell a story, one that can be visualized clearly. Overall, it is an album worth listening to, 4.5 out of 5 stars.

So if you have any questions or would like to request a topic for me to cover let me know in the comments below
