RIP Neil Armstrong

Bonsoir guys,

Today, Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, has died. To walk on the moon was (and still is) huge and the fact that this man had the courage to get in a rocket, travel many thousands of kilometres away from his home planet and walk about on a big-ass rock in space, is uber impressive. Of course, there were many other astronauts and cosmonauts who acheived inspirational things years ago, and are either dead or living on as legends, so I would also like to dedicate this post to them. To the brave men, women and animals who acheived these extraordinary feats, to their families, friends and people who supported them, to the scientists and so many others......
Space exploration is a hard thing to do. Without the courage of men like Neil Armstrong, Yuri Gagarin and so many others, our knowledge of the universe surrounding our planet would be quite, well, small.

In other news, I have been watching the amazing British comedy: Blackadder. Words can't describe how unbelievably funny, witty, informative, hilarious and full of humour this show is. I know it's old, not seen on TV these days, but it is, without a doubt, one of the best TV comedies I have ever seen. I love comedy. To me, a life without laughter can be compared to a heart without a beat; pointless and cold.
And this is why there should be more people watching shows like Summer Heights High, Mr Bean, Blackadder, Mrs Brown's Boys, The Big Bang Theory, We Can Be Heroes, 2 Broke Girls, South Park, The Simpsons, Family Guy and countless other comedic gems instead of rubbish like The Vampire Diaries and other TV shows that fail to produce so much as a giggle.

Also, I have been trying to teach myself to sing the Israeli national anthem, 'Hatikvah', because it sounds amazing and because the French one is too long and I can't pronounce everything. So far, there has been no success, but I am determined to get it right.

If you guys have any tips on how to memorise songs, any ideas for posts or if you're commenting one of those things that will get your crush to kiss you in 5 days by reposting, let me know in the comments below.

Shark Week 2012

Howdy y'all,

This is my favorite week of the year: Shark Week, a whole week of sharky awesomeness!!! It's just a shame I don't have the Discovery Channel, then I could watch the actual show :( But life goes on. Every year, I tell myself; "one day, there will be Foxtel in my house, one day".... Until then, I'll just YouTube the episodes and google the rest.

But there's one thing I don't like about Shark Week, and it's the fact that the sharks are represented as killers. You can't watch Shark Week without seeing at least one surfer lose a limb. And I thought the whole point of Shark Week was so that people could learn about these amazing animals. And to the good people at the Discovery Channel, have you considered highlighting the fact that the shark population is rapidly declining to human greed and stupidity?

Sorry guys, ranting again, I'm working on that. Anyhow, in recent news, I will be doing the 40 Hour Famine this weekend, and I will be giving up... talking!! It will be über hard, considering I'm a notorious chatterbox, but hopefully I can raise some money for a good cause. And find out if I can give up speech for 40 hours.

That's all I can write for now, stay tuned for further accounts of my misadventures, rants, opinions and views on current affairs. And the diary I'll be keeping on my silent weekend, you guys get a sneak peek!

Until Sunday night (Aussie Time), Vivmarie1407

A dedication to annoying people

Buon giorno,

The title of this weeks post may puzzle you, but trust me when I say I do dedicate this post to annoying people. I don't know about you guys, but lately I can't go somewhere without finding at least one person that makes me cringe (internally). I try hard not to let it bother me, and it's hard, but you have to eventually accept that you can't escape from people that will frustrate you.

I won't just be dedicating this to annoying people. This post is for the ego-maniacs, the obnoxious ones, the the backstabbers and everyone that manages to make people's lives that little bit more hard to deal with.
Now I look at what I've just written and think "Why the heck do I want to thank the people that bug me? I hate those guys!", and then I remember; they have changed my life, somehow.

See, over the years, I have developed some tolerance for people that bug me. In order to get through the day without killing anyone, you need a lot of tolerance.

Another thing you learn to put up with is the fact that they are inescapable. They could eat lunch with you. They could be that kid in your drama class with the whiny, nasally voice. They could be those losers that take up all the seats on the bus/train and then play their music really loud, just to piss you off even more. Basically, they are unavoidable. If no one annoys you, you must like everybody or maybe, you are the annoying one!!!
If you find out you are the annoying one, it's too late for you.

So back to what I was saying, there are many things you learn when you try to put up with annoying people. And you are already a hero when you can put up with annoying people/backstabbers/obnoxious morons/the kid with the whiny voice and donkey laugh. Seriously, that takes strength of character, give yourself some applause!!!

If by chance I have offended, think but this and all is mended; This is my blog, I can post about whatever I like and today, after a day of almost no talking to annoying/backstabbing/whining people, I felt like writing this. If you feel like I have mentioned you, please hesitate to ask me what my problem with you is. My problem with you is that you may have backstabbed/annoyed me sometime these past few days/weeks, and I don't have the heart to break it to you that you bother me, very much.

I'm still dedicating this to the bothering people because they made you and me the awesome people we are today. Without them, there are no legends. However, without them, there would be less anger in the world.
Who cares? I made a post and I got something off my back, I'm happy.

So, if you have any post requests, any topics you want me to cover, let me know in the comments section below. I'm open to anything, be it about something small like the importance of cats, or something large and controversial, like gay marriage (which we strongly support), religion and the situation in the Middle East. Seriously guys, anything you want! Nothing is too crazy for me to discuss. Just nothing inappropriate or disturbing.
