Today I went through every single post I have made on Tumblr.
EVERY single one.
And needless to say, it did bring back quite a lot of memories and I can't even begin to say how many times the sight of something made me smile.
I remembered all those wasted history lessons that weren't ever productive. I remembered the laughs shared with friends as I uploaded something hysterical.
And I remembered the hidden (or not so hidden) messages and thoughts behind particular posts. For a long time, my Tumblr could have been used as a makeshift temple for one important person.
Kinda creepy eh?
But those were the glory days. Those were the days of laughing in the face of 'pointless' things like grades, class/home work, assignments, detentions and other implements of torture used by the education system. Those were the days where ignorance was bliss. Those were the days when swearing wasn't such a bad habit. Those were the days when I could look up at the big blue sky and scream at it "I REALLY DO LOVE LIFE!!!"
But then 2012 ended and so did my last school year of mucking around 24/7. Like what happened to Wendy at the end of Peter Pan, I had to grow up. Somewhat.
I'm still relatively insane, I still lick the bowl after cake has been mixed in it and..... I still laugh at farts.
Somehow I think it's safe to say I could never be a mature and sophisticated adult. And yet I've got to deal with a lot of burdens that would be better suited to grownups.
I've got stuff like MORE homework/assignments/tests, outside school commitments, a basket case family, dysfunctional brain, amazing friends, a mother that DEMANDS I get a learners permit/licence, the most complicated love situation, housework, musicals, band rehearsals, Kitchen Experiment Wednesdays......
Being a mature adult sucks. I know the priviledges that come with the responsibilities are pretty cool, but I think that to go back in time to the days of childhood would be marvellous.
I'd take on bedtimes, parental guidance and monsters under the bed any day. Just for the days of reliving that joyous innocence.
Looking through pictures and gifs from the past has made my inner sentiments leak onto this page.... oops.
Still, what a human wouldn't give to be younger, even if only for a day....
And I guess it's going through past memories that make people wish they could relive them again.
Until the next post, I hope you guys have a moment in your lives that would make a wonderful memory if it was captured as a photograph. Whether it's a smile from someone you love or the best day of your life so far... I hope that moment becomes one that is cherished.
And also, here's some of my favourite things I found whilst going through my Tumblr. Enjoy!
