Dedicated to Camelia Crisan

Shalom Internet,

A while ago, I was on Youtube, looking at videos of cats being stupid, and when I looked up the song Price Tag by Jessie J, then  I spooled through the comments, I saw one by this girl. She was asking people to check out her videos. I did, and you know what? Best thing I ever did.

This girl's name is Camelia Crisan and she has got an amazing set of pipes!! What may make you do a double-take is the fact that she's Romanian. If that happens to you (it did to me), just listen. Her best songs, in my opinion are 'Remember' and 'Never Stop Believing'.

So I urge you all to at least listen to her, maybe share with your mates if you can. Here's the link to her channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/lollipopamyy, and if you're reading this Camelia, love the official music video!!

Earth Hour- are you ready?

Hey Internet,

Not this Saturday, but the next, is going to have the well-known hour where the world falls into darkness. And no, it's not Judgement Day, it's Earth Hour, a challenge presented to us by the WWF. Basically, all you do is not use anything electric (unfortunately including TV and computer ), for 1 hour, starting at 8.30 pm. And then it's over until the last Saturday of March the next year.

But why do we bother? Is it a waste of time? No, it's not. It represents the fact that we know we can reduce our impact on the Earth, simply by not using electricity for 1 hour.
If you have any more questions about Earth Hour or the WWF, here's the link; http://wwf.org.au/earthhour/

So let me know if your going to do Earth Hour, or if you have any ideas for post topics, in the comments below.

Happy Late St Patrick's Day!!!

Top of the not quite morning to you Internet, it's the St Patrick's Day Post!!!

Firstly, I want to apologise for not posting this yesterday, I was partying!!!! Not really :(
But it didn't stop me from feeling Irish; I wore my leprechaun hat, went to one party (a small one, but still had fun), and found out that I am a tiny bit Irish!!! Ok, about 1/8 Irish, but it's amazing that I have some culture in my blood, including Italian & Scottish!!

Hopefully all you guys had more fun than me, maybe next year I can get drunk and do something silly!! Who knows? Until then, keep on following and may the luck of the Irish be with you all, as well as the Force.

KONY 2012- and Happy(?) Ides of March!!

Hey Internet!

Today in my city, it's a lovely and rainy Ides of March, another one of those days considered unlucky. Why? As explained in the last post, it's the day Julius Caesar was stabbed to death, and he was allegedly warned by a fortune-teller to: 'beware the Ides of March' and not believing her/him, he wasn't cautious. Still, it's another reason to never underestimate psychics and fortune tellers.

But now to what I've been DYING to do: talk about Kony and what it's all about.
For those who surprisingly don't know who he is, he's the leader of the L.R.A (Lord's Resistance Army), a rebel group that abducts young Ugandan children from their homes at night. He forces the boys to kill their own parents and become child soldiers, and the girls into sex slaves for the L.R.A. They are then made to mutilate faces. And over 26 years, this has happened to over 30,000 children. Kony is not fighting for any cause, other than to maintain power. No one, until now, has done anything about it. He has also promised peace on many occasions and when his strength is regained, he attacks, killing many.
So what can we do? You probably live many miles away from Uganda, but you can do a lot for Kony 2012: Join the cause. Find out more information. Raise awareness in your local area. Whatever you can do, I DARE you to do something.

And that is all I'm going to say about the Kony campaign. If you have any questions, any topics you want me to talk bout, let me know in the comments below.

Happy Ides of March!! (and don't get stabbed today!)

Next post: Thursday

Hey Internet!!

So, this is not a post, it's an update. This Thursday, I will be doing a post raising awareness for Kony 2012 and also to celebrate the Ides of March.

I know that the Ides of March isn't a day we all celebrate like International Women's Day or Talk like a Pirate Day, because it's the day Julius Caesar was stabbed; so instead of celebrating it, I'm going to talk about it because it's interesting, and who doesn't like days that mark when something huge happened in history??

Speaking of important days, be sure to also check out the upcoming St Patrick's Day post, followed by pics of how funny I am when I'm drunk (hahaha, just kidding, I don't drink yet! :D)

Now I have to go get ready for a fun run tomorrow (aaah!), and a debate which is also tomorrow (double aaah!!). So the only thing left to do is say:

The International Womens Day Post

Hey again Internet,

Yesterday was a day to celebrate half of the world's population, it's International Women's Day!!!

Supposedly, it's the one day of the year where women get celebrations of love and respect, or the men treat us like it's our birthday/Valentine's Day/Mother's Day. That's all fine and good, except, is every woman in the world treated like a queen today? The answer to that is unfortunately true.

Not every woman gets treated the way she should. There are still people, families, religions even, where women must do what their husbands tell them what to do, they are seen as child-bearing machines, and if she commits a crime, eg: adultery, she is shunned or even stoned to death. With men, if he commited the same crime, nothing happens. So why celebrate a day that commemorates women's rights, when some women can't even choose their husband or get an education?

Because, for all the free women out there, being a woman is actually awesome. And it's not because we can bleed for a week and not die, or because we can walk in heels, but it's because we can do everything men can't (which is, no offense men!, a lot), we can have children, and on the inside, we're a heck of a lot more strong.

So tell us what you did to celebrate International Women's Day in the comments below.

And in recent news: Ashley Olsen is giving up acting, which isn't really news surprising, given that the last time she was on our screens, it was 2004 (New York Minute). Will she be missed, or are the Olsen's a bit passe now? Let me know in the comments below, as well as anything you want me to talk about.

One Direction Tickets- who really cares????

Hey guys, I know it's only been a few hours, but something's been seriously bothering me: One Direction and the sale of it's tickets in Australia.

So for those who don't know what One Direction is, it's some boy band that consists of a bunch of guys singing about what makes some chick beautiful. In Australia, they have a concert coming up, which sold out like (snap fingers) THAT, and now the poor darlings that couldn't get a ticket have taken to social media to moan about it, while the "lucky" people that got one or more are patting themselves on the back.

Firstly, to those that got tickets: good for you, because it really is a cool thing getting tickets to a concert when they are selling out rapidly, but just don't rub it in to everyone that doesn't have a ticket, or everyone that doesn't care. Secondly, to those poor darlings who couldn't get one: it's not the end of the world and also, we don't want to hear about how sad life is for you.

But I would just like to say I didn't get a ticket, one because I'm broke and two, because I don't believe in bands entirely made up of guys. Except for Green Day. And Good Charlotte. And several exceptions (sorry, not you N*SYNC).

So if you are going, or not going, to the One Direction concert, or any other concert (there's a Lady Gaga one coming up), or if there's anything you want me to talk about, let me know in the comments section.

The first post

People sometimes say going on stage for the first time is scary. They know nothing about how scary it is to start a blog.
At first I was sure this'd be fun, but now I'm freaked out. Like on a really freaky but cool looking rollercoaster. But you know what the people who survive and enjoy rollercoasters say, it's worth it in the end. And that's what I want to do by getting through the first post, get the scary part over with and start having fun. Because it'll be worth it if I get a successful blog (hey I'll be famous!! :D)

I started this blog not because it's something cool to mention in a conversation (I should try that), but so I could express my opinions about current events and old-ish ones. (by old-ish I mean within the last century. It's waaaaay too late to talk about the Black Death's current impact on ye olde music scene)
So I'll start by introducing a few topics you'll see soon. Celebrity deaths/fails (yes, fashion fails or Snooki's dumb tweets will be on here), natural disasters, the environment, stupid politicians and basically anything that warrants an opinion.

And now, I've just finished my first post!!! As freaky as it was, it's worth it. So goodnight Internet, there's a new post every week and don't forget to subscribe!!!
