The International Womens Day Post

Hey again Internet,

Yesterday was a day to celebrate half of the world's population, it's International Women's Day!!!

Supposedly, it's the one day of the year where women get celebrations of love and respect, or the men treat us like it's our birthday/Valentine's Day/Mother's Day. That's all fine and good, except, is every woman in the world treated like a queen today? The answer to that is unfortunately true.

Not every woman gets treated the way she should. There are still people, families, religions even, where women must do what their husbands tell them what to do, they are seen as child-bearing machines, and if she commits a crime, eg: adultery, she is shunned or even stoned to death. With men, if he commited the same crime, nothing happens. So why celebrate a day that commemorates women's rights, when some women can't even choose their husband or get an education?

Because, for all the free women out there, being a woman is actually awesome. And it's not because we can bleed for a week and not die, or because we can walk in heels, but it's because we can do everything men can't (which is, no offense men!, a lot), we can have children, and on the inside, we're a heck of a lot more strong.

So tell us what you did to celebrate International Women's Day in the comments below.

And in recent news: Ashley Olsen is giving up acting, which isn't really news surprising, given that the last time she was on our screens, it was 2004 (New York Minute). Will she be missed, or are the Olsen's a bit passe now? Let me know in the comments below, as well as anything you want me to talk about.

Au revoir, Vivmarie1407
