And no, I'm not talking about a person, or the fictional detective (but I do love Sherlock Holmes!!), but I'm referring to the name I've given to my brand new MacBook Air!!!!!!!
Bonjour guys, and in case you didn't know, it's Bastille Day today (as well as my birthday, but that's somewhat irrelevant by comparison).
Look outside one day, at the midnight sky and count the stars. Multiply that number by 1 000 000, and that's the amount of apologies you all deserve for my lack of making a post.
Believe it or not, I have actually had time to do so. And yet, I chose to be a loathsome human being, simply because there were other things like Sherlock Holmes, hangouts with friends and of course; MacBook Airs to receive for birthdays.
So I'm just being selfish. And I'm sorry.
I didn't even finish writing for my other blog The Carnivore Diaries.... which probably says a lot. However, my only redemption is that I made it to the end. I shan't dwell on the joys of consuming a much needed chip sandwich, but it was worth a celebration.
I finished that struggle a week ago. It was painful, maddening and I don't think I could do it again.
And that in itself is another example of my selfishness. I can't handle 2 weeks of solid meat, and yet there's so much suffering in the world that dwarfed mine by comparison.
Every day, someone loses someone they love; maybe from war, maybe from disease or some other preventable thing.
Every day, acres of nature is tainted by the hand of man; endangering the future of the earth and the inhabitants of the ruined ecosystem.
Every day, sharks either get entangled in nets or hauled onto a boat and get their fins sliced off, only to be chucked back into the ocean.
Each day is a gift, but each day brings with it grief for someone or something. If you've had the world's suckiest day, there isn't anything really stopping you from making it better. Just your own self-doubt. Because all limits are self imposed.
